Frequently Asked Questions
-
What type of events do you cater?
We do Weddings, Film/Television/Commercial Sets, Festivals, Birthdays, Parties, Church Gatherings, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, Office Parties, Picnics, Tastings, Meetings, or Any Special Event! We offer catering with the food truck, catering with our pop-up (picture a farmer's market set-up with more of a cooking show style ambiance), and catering deliveries (taco bars, etc). Let us know your vision--or let us help you create one--and we'll make it happen!
-
Is there a minimum guest count?
While there is not a minimum head count, we do have food and beverage minimums in place. We are happy to consult with you on menu options that would work well for your group if you have a smaller head count and want suggestions on how to best reach the minimum.
For catering delivery orders, there is no minimum; delivery fees vary, depending on location. -
Do we use peanuts in our food?
Yes, we use nuts.
-
Do we bring extra food?
Yes, we typically bring 10-20% extra food just in case. If you go over, we can just settle up afterwards. We do not bring extra appetizers, sides, or desserts, so the number of trays you designate for those will not be able to be increased on-site. We cannot offer refunds, unfortunately, as we've already purchased and prepped the quantity of food ordered according to the contract. But we are happy to leave left-overs if your projected head count ends up being higher than your actual guest count. If you do not wish to allow your guests to have the option of returning for seconds, please let us know in advance so we can implement a ticketing system.
-
How far in advance to I need to book?
We request at least a week’s notice for catered events with our food truck, though the sooner you book the better so you can secure your date. For catering delivery orders, 24 hours notice is required, though some items may not be available without one week's notice.
-
Do I need to provide a permit for an event?
With very limited exceptions--usually involving very large events that include street closures--additional permits are not required to rent the food truck for catering events.
-
Is There a Travel Fee?
For events within City limits: $300 non-refundable deposit.
For events outside City limits: $500 non-refundable deposit.
Travel Model:
A travel fee will be applied to events outside city limits. The travel fee will be calculated based on mileage and time required for travel. This fee will be quoted separately, and added to the over all cost of the event.
-
Model 1: Deposit + Food Costs
The applicable deposit (as outlined above) is required to secure your event date and cover initial staffing.
Following the deposit, food costs will be calculated based on your selected menu items and the number of guests. This charge includes:
-Ingredient costs
- Labor costs (including preparation, on-site service, and cleanup)
- A reasonable profit margin
- Travel cost if applicable.
This model offers flexibility, especially for events where the final guest count may vary. It ensures accurate cost calculation based on actual consumption.
-
Model 2: Deposit + Plate Sale
The applicable deposit (as outlined above) is required to secure your event date and cover initial staffing.
We will then sell individual plates to your event attendees at a predetermined price, ranging from $20.00 to $42.00, including applicable sales tax.
- The price of each plate will be determined by the chosen menu items.
- This model is optimal for events where the customer wants to offer food, but wishes to avoid paying for every single plate.
- This removes the customer from the overall food cost, and allows the customer to only pay the deposit.
* We can provide an estimate of how many plates we believe will sell, based on the event details.
-
Model 3: Deposit + Minimum Plate Sale
The applicable deposit (as outlined above) is required to secure your event date and cover initial staffing.
We will require a minimum plate sales of $1500.00.
- If plate sales do not meet the $1500.00 minimum, the customer will be responsible for the difference.
- Plate sale prices will still range from $20.00 to $42.00 including tax.
* This model is for events where the customer wants a guarantee of a minimum amount of sales.
